This intriguing Austrian variety grows in just 19 rows of our Brancott Vineyard. Exuberantly fruity, vibrantly coloured and lively, this wine has been crafted from vineyard to bottle. The fruit was hand-picked and hand-plunged in small vessels, then gently pressed to 50% new French oak Barriques to mature, enhancing the blueberry, cherry and bramble fruit with savoury, smoky notes. The result is a supple and enticing wine with soft, fine tannins and vivacious fresh fruit character.
Serve this wine with simple and light dishes such as seared tuna and spring vegetables, risotto bianco with butternut squash or an earthy roasted beetroot and goats cheese salad. Barbecue foods with a hint of smoke such as butterflied lamb leg will also work well, as will fresh white cheeses such as ricotta, mozzarella and chevre.
